A Vande Bharat Ride Showed Me Why Investors Are Never Satisfied

Pichle hafte ki ek Vande Bharat journey ne woh dikhaya jo har investor apne paison ke saath karta hai — aur hamesha galat waqt pe.

Pichle hafte Nashik se Shirdi gaya. Vande Bharat se. Pehli baar.

Excitement thi. Sab ne suna hai — VB premium hai, fast hai, world-class hai. Cleanliness, punctuality, comfort — sab kuch.

Aur train ne disappoint nahi kiya.

Nashik se time pe nikli. AC perfect. Seats comfortable. Itni garmi mein bhi ek baar pasina nahi aaya. Aur Shirdi 30 minute pehle pohnch gaye.

Bhai sahab, paise vasool.

Wapsi mein scene badal gaya

Wapsi bhi usi din thi. Shirdi se 5:45 PM ki train.

Time pe departed. Sab theek lag raha tha.

Aur phir… train ruki.

Koi unscheduled stop. Phir aage badi. Phir Manmad pe halt — kuch minute zyada.

Aur ek baat — Vande Bharat ka Manmad pe scheduled stop hai hi nahi. Premium “super fast” train, schedule mein non-stop, aur yahan random station pe ruk-ruk ke chal rahi hai.

Yahi dimaag pe lag gaya. Mere andar chalu —

“Yeh super fast train ka ruk-ruk ke kya matlab?”
“Express ke naam pe yeh sab kya ho raha hai?”
“Isse toh main road se nikal jata. Cab le leta. Jaldi pohch jata.”

Sach kahoon? Ek pal aisa bhi tha jab sochaa — “abhi utar jaata hoon yahin, taxi karke chalta hoon.”

Phir thoda ruka. Dimaag laga.

Manmad se Nashik taxi mein 90 minute lagega minimum. Train mein abhi 25 minute baaki hain. Aur AC, seat, comfort — sab abhi yahin pe hai.

Matlab — utarne ka koi tuk nahi tha. Par dimaag bol raha tha — “kaash main aise karta toh jaldi pohch jata.”

Counterfactuals chal rahe the dimaag mein:
❌ Cab se jaldi pohchta
❌ Doosri train le leta
❌ Road se nikal jata
(Sab actually slower the.)

Train wapas chali. Manmad se nikli. 7:50 PM par main Nashik pohch gaya.

15 minute delay. Bas itna.

Phir bhi — safe. Comfortable. AC. Bina pasina. Bina jhatka. Bina dhakka.

Train ne apna kaam kiya tha. Mujhe destination pe pohncha diya tha.

Maine apne dimaag mein kya kiya tha? Stress.

Ghar aate waqt ek baat dimaag mein aayi

Yaar, yeh toh hum apne paison ke saath bhi karte hain.

Bilkul yahi.

Same train. Same destination. Same delivery.

Bas mid-journey pe ek halt aaya — aur poora dimaag uchchal gaya.

Hum sab ki “Kaash” list

Investor ki diary mein yeh “kaash” line har dip mein likhi jaati hai:

“Kaash maine pehle hi profit book kar liya hota.”
— Bolne wale aksar woh hote hain jo har baar profit book karte hain, phir wapas top pe entry kar lete hain. Same loop chalta rehta hai.

“Kaash main equity mein gaya hi nahi hota.”
— Bolne wale aksar woh hote hain jinhone last 5 saal ka return dekh ke hi entry maari thi. Peak pe gaye, dip mein nikalna chahte hain.

“Kaash main sirf large cap mein rehta, mid/small touch hi nahi karta.”
— Bolne wale aksar woh hote hain jinhone 2 saal pehle mid/small ka rally dekh ke hi switch kiya tha.

“Kaash main FD mein hi rehta, mutual fund ka chakkar hi nahi rakhta.”
— Bolne wale aksar woh hote hain jo 1 saal baad market chadhne pe phir kahenge — “kaash main equity mein zyada rakha hota.”

Har “kaash” mein ek hi pattern hai —

Jo nahi liya, woh perfect dikhta hai.
Jo liya, uss ki har choti dip mein dard hota hai.
Aur dono ek hi insaan ke dimaag mein chal rahe hain — same time pe.

Yeh “kaash” hi humara sabse bada dushman hai. Train se zyada. Market se zyada. Apne aap se ladta hai.

Manmad halt vs market correction

Train ka Manmad pe rukna mujhe annoying laga.

Par train ka kaam tha mujhe Nashik pohnchana — Manmad pe nahi. Manmad bich mein aaya. Train ek-do reason ke liye ruki — signal, congestion, kuch operational. Driver ko pata tha woh phir chalegi. Uska focus destination pe tha.

Mera focus halt pe tha.

Train ka focus destination pe tha. Mera focus halt pe tha.

Yahi farak hai investor aur fund manager ke beech mein bhi.

Fund manager ka focus 10-15 saal baad ke return pe. Investor ka focus aaj ke NAV pe.
Fund manager ka focus economy ke cycle pe. Investor ka focus pichle 3 mahine ke return pe.
Fund manager ko pata hai market kabhi-kabhi rukti hai — yeh normal hai. Investor ko har ruk-ruk lagti hai — “bhai yeh kya ho raha hai?”

Toh next time jab market gire

Aur aapki SIP ke screen pe red dikhe — ek baat yaad rakhna.

Train ka rukna delay nahi hai. Journey ka hissa hai.

Aur jab dimaag bole “kaash main aise karta…” — apne aap se ek hi sawaal poochiye —

“Kya main apni destination tak pohnch raha hoon?”

Agar haan — toh baithiye, chai pi lijiye. Khidki se bahar dekhiye. Manzil aane waali hai.

Agar nahi — toh advisor se baat kariye. Yeh utarne ka time hai, panic karne ka nahi.

Bas itna farak hai.

“Kaash” wali baat dimaag mein chal rahi ho?

Hum bhi usi train mein hain. Sirf hum khidki se bahar dekhna seekh chuke hain — andar ki ghadi se nahi judte. Ek call ki doori pe hain.

  1. Hitesh you r 💯 right
Kaash” wali baat dimaag mein chal rahi ho
Thodi der rukkar phir se ek bar sochna ki joe kaash wali, baat apan soch Rahe who sahi hai kya

    Vande Bharat and Aapki SIP
Comparison job apne likha hai or sahi

  2. Very well articulated and superb analogy between train journey and wealth creation journey. It’s happening with the majority of investors who started the journey post-COVID.

  3. Sometimes, we tend to overthink every situation, especially when we face challenges in reaching our goals—whether in our career, investments, or other important life decisions. We often feel, “I wish I had chosen a different option.”

However, success comes from staying focused and consistent. To truly achieve our goals, we must commit to our chosen path and avoid constantly looking for alternatives. When too many options remain open, it creates doubt and distraction.

The key is to stay focused, remain consistent, and move forward with confidence. Whether your goal is financial, educational, or personal, dedication will eventually lead you to success.

  4. A perfect naration and comparison. Its true story as I know he was traveling nasik to shirdi and back on same day i.e. on 9th April.
When he borded from Shirdi I had a talk with him and he told me that it’s vande bharat and will reach right time at 7.30 pm at Nasik. And due to unknown reasons train reached late by 15 mts. which gave him above thaught.

My son Hitesh, I am proud of you for helping thousands of families for creating wealth by proper way.

  5. Kya baat hai…..

    Too Good…

Never thought advantages of investing through Mutual Fund/ SIP could be explained with such a simple story..

  6. Perfect story of the Vande Bharat Train Journey and the Investors’ investment journey, which gives the most important lesson on what to do if stuck on the journey we planned.

*Kash* jais words ko jyada se jyada avoid kare and apani wealth creation journey par jyada focused rahe. Apani wealth creation journey puri karne ke liye apane Advisor se time time pe advice lete rahe and apani wealth creation journey ko behatar banate chale.

  7. Very very simple but perfect example for everyone who are investing in mutual funds. Thanks Hitesh Sir.

  8. Very good example, people always tend to be panic, patience matters a lot. Do nothing
Is an important mantra. Actually this mantra
should be our only choice in volatile or falling
markets. It is always proved that these types of situations….
